Justice Court


By order of Judge Lawrence Marks, the Chief Administrative Judge for the state of New York, the Eaton Town Court, and the Morrisville Village Court are closed at this time due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. All essential court operations have been transferred to Madison County Court. If you have not been notified that you need to appear there, then your case has been adjourned, and you do not need to appear until notified. You will receive a new court date in the mail.

The Justice Court handles cases involving traffic and parking violations, village code violations, penal law violations, misdemeanors, small claims matters, and summary proceedings (evictions). The Village Justice Court is located at the Town of Eaton Offices. The Village Justice is elected to a four-year term.

Court is in session each Wednesday evening at 5:00 PM. See the link to the court schedule at the bottom of the page.

If you wish to speak to the Judge or Court Clerk, it’s suggested that you do so in person when court is in session (every Wednesday at 5:00). You may also contact the court in writing by mail, fax or email (see left). Please include your full name, date of birth and address on all written communication.

Payments may be made in person when Court is in session. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Only cash, money orders, certified checks or VISA AND MASTERCARD are accepted. A Certified Check or Money Order should be made payable to Morrisville Justice Court. Please be sure to leave your fine notice with your payment. Payments can also be mailed at the above address. PLEASE NOTE CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED OVER THE PHONE.
