The mission of the Morrisville Historic Preservation Commission is to promote the preservation of those sites in the Village of Morrisville that exemplify the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of the community.
Through the work and dedication of its members, the Historic Preservation Commission has been recognized as a Certified Local Government as per the United States Department of the Interior National Park Service. As a Certified Local Government, the Commission is eligible to apply for specially earmarked grants in an effort to better serve the residents of the Village.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village of Morrisville Historic Preservation Commission will hold its regular meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at the Village Office, 23 Cedar Street, Morrisville, NY.

Recommendation and Designation of Historic Landmarks
The Commission may recommend an individual property as a landmark if it: (1) Possesses special character of historic or aesthetic interest or value as part of the cultural, political, economic or social history of the locality, region, state or nation; (2) Is identified with historic personages; (3) Embodies the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural style; (4) Is the work of a designer whose work has significantly influenced an age; or (5) Because of unique location or singular physical characteristic, represents an established and familiar visual feature of the neighborhood.
